This is my second year in a row designing for the Crochetmous Crew’s make-a-long for the charitable organization, Hat Not Hate. It’s truly a great cause, bringing Knitters and Crocheters together to make blue hats for distribution in schools nation-wide in a show of support to stand up to bullying. I chose this year to design a unisex beginner Tunisian beanie, suitable for all levels of ability, using Lion Brand’s Heartland yarn.
A beanie is the perfect quick make to use up those single skeins of yarn we all have, and perfect for beginners to start with. Check out the patterns below for a quick and simple make suitable for beginners.

Persinette Crochet Pom Beanie Free Pattern – Stand Up to Bullying
When the opportunity arose to design a crochet pom beanie as part of a series of designs by the Crochetmous Crew for Hat Not Hate’s anti-bullying campaign, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. If you haven’t heard of it before, October is National Bullying Prevention Month and blue hats, made by members of the knitting and crochet communities, are distributed to schools all across the country to empower kids to stand up to bullying. What a fantastic cause!
