Friday 29th July 2022 is my turn! As the featured designer, I’m thrilled to bring you my brand new pattern; the Snowfall Tunisian Crochet Pillow!
About the Design
The Snowfall pattern is inspired by traditional Norwegian Snowflake designs. The Pillow uses a combination of simple and beginner-friendly Tunisian techniques to create a stunning pattern perfect for the Holiday season!
The seamed fold-over flap and button closure make this pillow cover removable. Not only does this make the cover much more easily washable, it also means you can have a variety of covers to suit any season stored away to swap out as needed!
The Yarn
To create the most snuggly and comfy cushion ever, I returned to one of my absolute favourite bulky yarns. If you’ve ever used the gorgeously soft Wonderfluff from We Crochet then you’ll know why!
As the name suggests, it is WONDERFULLY FLUFFY! ‘Softer than a kitten, fluffier than a cloud’ is the tagline… I can testify to just how true that is! It’s a blend of baby Alpaca and Merino wool fibres, blown into a tube of nylon mesh. The end result is soft, beautifully warm, and airy. The construction gives it a halo you might normally associate with mohair, but unlike that sometimes-difficult yarn, Wonderfluff ‘frogs’ really easily. (Should you ever need to!)
Tunisian Crochet
If you’re looking to expand your Tunisian skills, or even if you’ve never picked up a Tunisian Hook before, then the Snowfall Tunisian Crochet Pillow is the perfect beginner-friendly accessory to work up featuring easy stitches and techniques, with full photo tutorials each step of the way.
This pattern is worked both in rows and in the round, which means you’ll need both a straight hook with a cable and stopper, and a double ended Tunisian hook. Alternatively you can use an interchangeable set with a variety of sizes and stoppers. Check out some of my favourites below, all available from Amazon:
